Loom Psychology is a Yorkshire-based company and is proud of the region’s rich looming heritage. Just as traditional looms weave intricate fabrics, at Loom Psychology, we weave expert psychological advice for statutory assessment processes, helping to shape the educational paths of young children. Specialising in Early Years assessments, our team works within multidisciplinary teams, with significant experience in Early Years Autism assessments.
Our name, Loom, symbolises the careful and thoughtful process of weaving together clear, evidence-based advice that supports Local Authorities, parents, and educational professionals. Dr Reem Ameri, BSc, PGCE, MSc, DEdPsy, founder of Loom Psychology, is a highly experienced Educational Psychologist with a wealth of specialist knowledge in Early Years assessments and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). She is a chartered member of the British Psychological Society and adheres to the highest standards of psychological practice.

Dr Ameri’s work is driven by over two decades of experience in education and psychology. She has worked within the Early Years diagnostic team for ASC and has built a reputation as a specialist in this field. Her deep understanding of child psychology and educational needs makes her a trusted advisor to Local Authorities and educational professionals alike.
As a qualified teacher, Dr Ameri brings a unique perspective to her practice, combining her expertise in education with her psychological knowledge to provide holistic, thoughtful assessments that truly make a difference in children’s lives.

When she’s not focused on psychological assessments or collaborating with families, Dr Reem Ameri is a proud mum of four (plus one energetic fur baby), and she’s always on the go! A keen walker and runner, you’ll often find her exploring the great outdoors. Her passion for adventure and learning has taken her around the globe—having lived and worked in 12 places, including England, Wales, Iraq, and Dubai, she’s always gathering new stories and experiences.
A lifelong learner and avid reader, Dr Ameri is constantly feeding her curiosity. And, of course, she’ll never say no to a piece of chocolate!
